Security Committee Meeting
Tuesday, May 05, 2026, 10:00 AM
This meeting will be in collaboration with the VSRA Cybersecurity Committee. We will have our own Greg Tomchick from Valor Cybersecurity and David Auth from Hampton Roads Communication Technologies (HRCT) help us understand and simplify cybersecurity for the defense community, how to ensure compliance, protection, and mission readiness.
We're bringing both committees together for a reason: the lines between physical security and cybersecurity are no longer just blurring - they're merging. Cybersecurity Maturity Model Certification (CMMC) requirements isn't just a checkbox for defense contractors, they are a requirement that are putting contracts and workload at risk.
In this session, you'll walk away with:
• A clear understanding of CMMC - what it is, who it applies to, and why it matters beyond the federal contracting world
• Practical insight into how CMMC aligns with physical security, because access control, facility protection, and personnel security aren't separate conversations
• Shared resources and expertise you can apply directly to your organization's security planning
Whether you're deep in CMMC efforts or just beginning to think about where cyber and physical security intersect, this session is designed to give you real, actionable knowledge delivered by the people living it every day.
The Security Committee will lead the discussion, followed by additional perspective from Cybersecurity Committee leadership.
Come ready to learn, ask questions, and leave with clarity.
